SERIES

The starting point is always a concept, a basic element, rarely a form immediately: binding, compressing, tearing, nailing, incorporating, lacerating, scratching, are not just gestures to make my jewels, they are the meaning of my jewels.

Before the shape

I always pursue the idea of eternal precariousness, of unstable balances, that compositional fragility typical of transformations, of tensions.

Behind every series there is this struggle which becomes a compositional urgency and which then finds an outlet in a theme which becomes its leitmotiv.

Magnetica

One of my latest obsessions is the concept of 'attraction': jewellery made with invisible micro-magnets that create anti-gravitational suspension and attractions interrupted a moment before concluding.

Seeds

What is an insight if not a seed? That's why I feel a particular thrill when an insight manages to identify the right formal balance.

Stretch

A perceptual sleight of hand where metal behaves like fabric - a visual deception that bends hard, inflexible materials to the laws of dynamic plastic composition.

Knots

I prefer to take risks and continually challenge myself as I go forward instead of obsessively following ideas that might be good but become emptied of meaning after endless variations. Or even worse, right away. It's a principle that, paradoxically, led me to create the Knots series.

Nails

Can even a simple, everyday object like a nail have a story to tell and a message to convey? A question that kept nagging at me until it was answered.

Stonetale

Every stone tells its story, its form narrating the tale of the millenary process of its formation. And once set in a piece of jewellery, it also tells the story of the wearer, identifying itself with their aesthetic.

Movements

The alteration of perception, the mobility of mechanics, the changeability and visual instability are the basis of my work and the inspiration for a dedicated series.

Textum

Just as you would weave a strip of fabric, I like to weave my jewellery, sewing the pieces together with golden threads.

Flow

Art and stasis are the perfect oxymoron. Experience and research on the form have to makeover unrestlessly. If this were not the case, the penalty would be the boredom of those who do it and those who enjoy it.

Andròs

Only the formal essentiality combined with a strong character, can allow you to use the adjective confortable talking about a jewel.

Signum

At the beginning they were symbols in the center of pendants that resembled an ancient coin in shape. Then representations of the planets that interpret the Signum as ‘Astrum’ related to the zodiac, an alternative to the usual reproductions of zodiac signs.

Baroque

Whoever like me was born and lives in Rome is as if he went to Baroque school every day and his work cannot fail to be fascinated by it. First of all, the work of Bernini.

Dedicated

Materializing my ideas helps me to live, and I would never want to do anything else.
